Heinkel He-111 1:200 WIP

Heinkel He-111 1:200 WIP

Description

WIP on a Heinkel He-111 (one of the early models). Currently building towards a 1:200 version for Blood Red Skies (BRS). UPDATE (06/01/2020): - Added full mesh version for easier resin printing UPDATE: - Added the triangular insert to the newer uploaded he-111-body sections but haven't had time to try a test print yet. Also corrected the scale (was using a later he-111 version length which was 18 meters long but in fact this earlier H version should 16.2 meters long. - Fixed some mesh issues. - Cut the cockpit area from the front so that it can be vertically printed for a far better resolution. Still needs some of the cockpit area struts improving though. TODO: - May consider cutting the wings off so that they can be printed separately and the body can be printed at a better angle for the side window resolution. - Improve the engine vents so they are fully printed at 1:200 scale (they currently only print the front parts of the exhaust pipes) - Add holes into the top[ and bottom turrets so that a little piece of wire (paperclip?) can be added as a gun - Consider adding torpedoes on the underside for another version - Consider some (clear?) discs to be mounted on the spinners as 'moving' propellers - Consider a clear canopy for the top gun turret. This would involve making the base model without it and then printing the canopy separately with clear filament The photos are 'quick' printed at a normal layer height (0.15mm) at 60mms with Meshmixer tree supports around the engines. Took about 2 hours on my Ender 3. I'd recommend printing at 0.1mm or less at a slower speed to bring out the window detail more and reduce the layering effect. The latest slice looks to take around the same time but at 0.1mm resolution so will give it a print soon.
