Hydroponic Avocado Seed Germinating Basket
Description
An avocado seed germinating basket using any wide-mouthed bottle such as a mason jar. Print the medium sized basket to fit a quart jar and the small basket fits over most other smaller jars. Use small or medium sized seeds from ripe avocados. Wash and remove the skin from the seed. Put the flat side down into the basket with the pointed side facing up, Place the basket into the mason jar as shown and fill with water until half to three quarters of the seed is submerged in the water. Place the mason jar in a sunny spot such as a window sill. Regularly top up the water level to prevent the roots from being exposed to air. Once the roots are well developed transfer the plant to soil leaving half the seed exposed above the soil. if avocados don't grow well in your area the plant makes an excellent pot plant, otherwise plant outdoors.
