Ender 3 Case for MKS Gen 1.4 board

Ender 3 Case for MKS Gen 1.4 board

Description

The MKS Gen 1.4 board is much longer than the stock Ender 3 board, hence won't fit in the stock enclosure. This enclosure sticks out the front a bit, but has the standoffs located properly to attach the MKS board, It re-uses the stock cooling fan (which doesn't seem to work in the OEM case anyway) but has it on the front panel pointed down the line of the stepper drivers. No need for a protective cover over the vent. The Type B usb connection is brought out to the front panel with a right angle cable but the longer cable has to be coiled inside the case. One could just stick the cable out through the hole in the case and let it dangle. One could also use the type A to type B cable that comes with the MKS board and let it hang out the front (or go directly to an Octopi). The lid doesn't screw down, I just tape it on with some cellophane tape. It just keeps things from falling into the case so tape works quite well. The original case has a tab that extends out the back so the case can be anchored at the rear. There isn't enough room to print that tab on the Ender 3 so I left it off. The case is attached at the front but just lays on the desk or workbench top supporting the printer. Extra caution might be needed if the printer needs to be picked up for any reason.
