CNC Mill 4th axis makerbeam gang rail
Description
1/3/19 Update: Second version has grooves at base for three-jaw chuck. There are always interesting ways to approach holding parts while machining. This is a prototype design for a gang rail attachment to the A-axis of a CNC Milling machine. Its a kind of maker beam attachment for holding parts while rotational CNC milling. You can attach different work-pieces to each side, or on opposite sides. 1) It will allow you to load multiple small jobs, up to four, and rotate the work piece by 90 degrees at a time or 180 degrees. 2) You can rotate the work to a specific angle and mill edges. 3) You can move off center and bevel edges and make angled grooves. 4) You can mill opposite sides of a two part model without having to remount the work. 5) You can secure work with sliders or even plates (as shown). 6) This Rational axis adapter can be used with any of the Connectors for 20mm Maker Beam from the following Thingiverse project: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:28179 Several different types of holders can slide down the grooves on the different sides of the "MakerBeam" portion. This design was developed for manufacturing small parts, while making an automated Immuno-Stainer (Experiential Pathology Research Laboratory Equipment).
