Yet Another Dice Tower – Imperial Version

Yet Another Dice Tower – Imperial Version

Description

This is a very simple derivative of my [Yet Another Dice Tower](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3258156) which used metric size dowel through the core. I was asked if I would create an *imperial version* for those still stuck using out-of-date and completely backward imperial measurements. It was a simple job to create a new version with the centre hole a touch larger to suit **quarter inch dowel**. I am curious to see how popular this version is in comparison with the metric version. The photos here are of the [Yet Another Dice Tower](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3258156) rather than the design presented here. So in addition to a **quarter inch dowel**, you will need to find a soft-drink bottle of about 89mm diameter (3.5inch). If you are looking to make a really tall tower then a sheet of plastic rolled into a cylinder will work just fine too. The steps don’t take long to print. Just print off as many as you need for the tower height you are looking to create. When clipped together, each step is 5mm high so you will need about 20 of them for a typical soft drink bottle size tower. Take care with the battlements too, I made them a little thin and so they are inclined to break off during exuberant dry-brushing. Finally, if you don’t like chasing after dice, then I would suggest taking a look at **[domino6713’s courtyard addon](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3309814)** which will fit this model too. **Update - 13 Jan 2019**: I have included two extra tops for the dice tower. These are ```DiceTowerTopv2A-Imp.stl``` and ```DiceTowerTopv2B-Imp.stl```. These were created because the fragility of the turrets in the original design was concerning me. These optional alternatives have thicker turrets and so are less likely to get damaged during painting and general handling. Also ```DiceTowerTopv2B-Imp.stl``` has skulls on it so it must be *way* cooler right? I haven't printed these myself (because I only need one dice tower), so if you choose to use them it would be great to see some makes. Also if they prove troublesome to print please let me know - although I expect them to be trouble-free. To see an actual print of the skull style top, have a look at [Jelzic's build](https://www.thingiverse.com/make:601813).
