16mm takeup reel (500 ft)
Description
This is just a simple 16mm projector take-up reel, using laser cut acrylic (1/8") and a 3D printed center piece. Assembled with your choice of 8 M3 screws, 6mm works well. The reel can hold aproximately 500 ft, I just designed it to hold some film that was on another reel so I just made it the right size for that so it probably doesn't fit any standard dimensions. I forgot to add the slot for threading the film in the first time around, so if you want a reel with a slot for your film, print the file that has slot in the name. You could print the larger discs as well, you would just need to drop the drawing into the CAD program of your choice and extrude them to the desired thickness. I just used laser cut acrylic because I had acrylic laying around a free access to a laser cutter. If you have these same materials laying around and a printer and a laser cutter, you can make this take-up reel for only the cost of time.
