Snell's Law Demo 82 mm lens holder
Description
This demonstration shows how the optical properties of a lens change when the index of refraction of the surrounding media is changed. Ask students to predict whether the object seen in the lens will appear larger, smaller, or remain the same size when the setup is submerged in water. The answer is written on the object in the form of Snell's Law. This design was inspired by the beautiful physics demo projects of Dick Berg at UMD: https://lecdem.physics.umd.edu/question-of-the-week-archive/138-qotw-014-with-answer.html This thing was made with Tinkercad.
