Laser Cut DRAWS Encloser - WB7FHC
Description
I have modified my original UDRC case for the new DRAWS board from NW Digital Radio. DRAWS is a HAT that goes onto an Rpi to create the "Digital Radio Amateur Work Station" for Packet Radio, APRS, Fldigi and other Amateur Digital Radio modes. This file will cut three cases on a single 12" x 12" sheet of 1/8 inch acrylic. The case assembles tightly with no screws or glue. 1. Put the bottom and two long sides together first and drop in the electronics. The top long shoulders go on the USB end of the case. 2. Next add the panel on the USB end of the Rpi. It slides over the four hooks and then snaps down to lock in place. 3. The top drops down onto the sides and slides under the shoulders into the end panel. 4. Install the micro SD end of the case last. The laser cut T will flex and snap into the two nipples on the end of the top panel. If needed, nudge the accessory port slightly toward the GPS antenna connector and everything will click together. To take it apart, gently flex the T away from the top of the case so that it can slide up and all the rest of the parts will come free. Acrylic is brittle. Make sure you don't spread the sides away from the case while you are putting it together. This "bottle opener" effect is sure to pop off a tab. Even if you break a tab, the case will probably still stay together. If you goof, a broken piece can usually be repaired with "Super Glue."
