DJI Osmo Pocket Wireless Tripod Adapter

DJI Osmo Pocket Wireless Tripod Adapter

Description

UPDATE 24 Feb 2019: I replaced the model with an upgraded version that is now labeled "v2". I did this in response to a couple of comments indicating that the "ears" have broken off for some people. (I've taken mine on-and-off the Wireless Module over a hundred times to test this and have had no failure, but this doesn't mean I can't try to improve it.) To do this, I went back an completely reworked how the geometry is created. One wouldn't know it from looking, but the Wireless Module is actually not circular at elevations above the bottom surface. So this means that you really must align the Wireless Module so that the USB connector leads in first. This will result with the little charging light facing out towards the front when the Wireless Module is inserted. Once inserted, you can try to rotate the Wireless Module and you'll find that it resists you. So all directions are not equal on this thing. Who knew? This new version is just a bit more beefy and it has little fillets along that internal corner to reduce strain. It's a tricky thing, because one must consider the trade off between making the "ears" thick enough so that they'll be strong, but thin enough to allow the ears to "flex" enough to allow the Wireless Module to pass through. It may not look much different to the casual observer, but it IS improved and it should be more robust. That, plus the knowledge about the aligned insertion should allow this part to last a good long time. --> Begin original post: The Wireless Module for the DJI Osmo Pocket has an obvious shortcoming, which is that it has no 1/4-20 tripod screw. So now it does. This simple adapter plate allows you to just slide the wireless module horizontally in from the front (the direction of the slide is indicated by the little arrow) and it "pops" into place. It is held securely, and it won't fall out even upside down. The challenge was to make the opening wide enough to allow the wireless module to pass, but narrow enough to hold it in place. This part is just right. I've printed with both PLA and PETG and it works great. So if you own the DJI wireless module, then print this and you'll have a nice small functional tripod adapter.
