E3D V6 Direct Drive X Carriage w/ Fanduct for Tevo Tarantula
Description
This is an x carriage for the Tevo Tarantula that I designed after not finding the perfect solution for swapping to an E3D V6, a 5015 fanduct, and a direct drive extruder. The __file versions for the final design are *"direct drive x carriage v3"* and *"fanduct v4."*__ The other .stl files are included to show the evolution of the design, and are either flawed or completely unusable. This design has many handy features, including countersunk nut sockets to tighten eccentric nuts without the need for a second wrench, a friction-fit fan mounting system using a common zip tie, and a strain relief system to which the frustratingly flimsy limit switch wires can be secured to, limiting movement which tends to break the thin wire where it meets the solder. Requires no additional hardware other than what came with the printer. I have a PTFE tube mount (thinner than stock) which I used to ensure the filament has a clear path out of the extruder, but it is not necessary and I have had successful prints without it. That said, I imagine retraction and extrusion in general will not be as precise.
