C1-10P Head Arm Doors

Description

This is a head arm door mechanism for C1-10P head design from TinyP. The door is printed laying flat and will fit straight into the cavity that the dome already has with no major modification. Although not screen accurate actuation it still gives the door mechanism without compromising the dome structure. Once printed file the main body slots for a very loose fit so that the slider will fall out with gravity. I glued a flat washer on the inside of the slider to add a little weight and help it fall, but if loose enough it won't need it. The slider will need a string, needle thread or fishing line to lift it open. I am using a 9 gram servo and a stick with enough leverage, rotational distance, to move the door to a fully open position, there is plenty of room in the dome for the lever movement. Being that the slider is really light it should put too much strain on the servo. A small hole in the dome to pass the thread or line through is the only adjustment to the dome. I have held my main body in with just some sticky tape at the moment but will probably add 4 small dots of hot glue so that it can be removed in future in case the string breaks. The servo arm and mount are to support the 9g servo, the TOP of the servo mount needs to be 190mm from the dome BOTTOM face as in the images, print mirrored if you want to mount on the other side.
