Ubiquiti Cloud Key Gen2 Plus 1U Rackmount Adapter

Ubiquiti Cloud Key Gen2 Plus 1U Rackmount Adapter

Description

This is a rackmount adapter for Ubiquiti Cloud Key Gen2 Plus. The rackmount adapter is printed in four parts: * Cloud Key carriage mount (left mount) * Cloud Key rear hook * Middle rack piece with keystone jack * Right rack piece (no changes from remix) Additional parts required: * 1x M3 square nut * 1x M3x10mm bolt * RJ45 Jack + Crimper * 1x CAT6/CAT5e Keystone Jack * Glue * 4x Rack Screw and Clip (if your rack requires). The rear hook piece is affixed using an M3 square nut and an M3x10mm screw. See picture. ### How I Printed It As a test of my newly assembled Original Prusa MK3, this was my first print! I printed all four parts via two prints. I printed with PETG but you should be able to use PLA with no issue. If it gets hot in your server room or network closet, you might opt for PETG or ABS. #### First Print * Cloud Key carriage mount (left mount) * Cloud Key rear hook I printed this with support for the face plate bridge. Slic3r also put supports where it totally did not need any like inside the M3 nut space. (See picture.) It also took a bit of patience to remove supports because I used PETG. #### Second Print * Middle rack piece with keystone jack * Right rack piece (no changes from remix) I printed this with no support. ### Assembly 1. Print the parts. 1. Clean up the supports. 1. Insert the square nut into the left adapter. 1. Place the Ubiquiti Cloud Key Gen2 Plus and secure the rear clip with the M3x10mm bolt. 1. Measure an appropriate length of CAT6 cable and crimp one end with an RJ45. 1. Punch the other end into the CAT6 Keystone Jack. 1. Insert the Keystone CAT6 jack into the Keystone Port in the middle bracket. 1. Glue the pieces together. **Don't put too much glue.** I put too much glue and it oozed out. It works but it's ugly. (See picture.) Next version, I might make slots for M3 nuts and M3 bolts. 1. Rack the thing. 1. Plug it in. ### Remixes * Bracket from 19" 1U Server Rack Cover Plate by XDr4g0nX * Keystone Jack from WALLY - Wall Plate Customizer by TheNewHobbyist ### Change Log * **v0.2** Removed some material on the bottom to reduce material usage and improve heat dissipation. Converted the rear affixing part to a separate part affixed using M3 nut and screw.
