Sudoku ColorKu Travel Edition

Sudoku ColorKu Travel Edition

Description

Updated 2020-05-12 | After some user feedback, I've developed some improvements. The box now has cutouts to more easily remove the board. Additionally, I've implemented a way for the board to be secured in place (no more wrapping with rubber bands). Simply place the board in the top of the box (either side up) and press firmly to lock in place. To remove, on two opposite sides of the board there are indentions you can grab with your thumb and lift up while slightly pulling that side of the box outward with your other hand. At first I tried having connectors on all four sides, but it was nearly impossible to remove the board. When testing with just two connectors the hold is solid but removal of the board is easy. Additionally, I've added a board with "COLORKU" on the backside of it in addition to a blank board. --------------------------------------------- This is a travel version of the fun ColorKu game (https://www.amazon.com/Mad-Cave-Bird-Games-ColorKu/dp/B0055JIV20/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1549391266&sr=1-1&keywords=colorku) If you are not familiar with ColorKu, the game is actually Sudoku but instead of using numbers it uses colored game pieces. For easiest puzzle setup, if you own the ColorKu game you can simply use the puzzle cards that come with the game. Additionally, you may also purchase puzzle card packs seperately: - Expansion Pack 1 (easier levels): https://www.amazon.com/Colorku-Expansion-Puzzle-Card-Pack/dp/B0012ZLOL6/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1549391743&sr=1-1&keywords=colorku+expansion+packs - Expansion Pack 2 (harder levels): https://www.amazon.com/ColorKu-Expansion-Pack-Harder-Levels/dp/B0012ZLRX6/ref=sr_1_2?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1549391845&sr=1-2&keywords=colorku+expansion+pack+2 - Expansion Pack 3 (all levels): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0012ZPF9S/ref=psdc_166363011_t1_B0012ZLOL6 However, you don't have to buy cards to play the game. You can use a normal Sudoku puzzle setup from Sudoku books, magazines, etc. using the color/number associations below. Also, there's this great generator that was created by thomasa88: https://tiny.cc/sudoku-color 1 = red 2 = orange 3 = yellow 4 = light green 5 = dark green 6 = light blue 7 = dark blue 8 = light purple 9 = dark purple When printing you will want to choose a neutral color for your board (e.g. white, marble, light gray, etc.), so that it doesn't visually interfere with any of the game piece colors. For the game pieces, you will need to print a set of 9 in each of the 9 colors above (or a close substitute - e.g. use pink for light purple, etc.) As a FYI, I have provided 3 game piece STL files with 9 game pieces, each with a different diamenter base. For my setup, the 14.8mm base fits perfectly in the 15mm holes. However, understanding that tolerances may be different on some printers, I have also included game pieces with a 14.7mm base and a 14.6mm base.
