KWA Akg-74 magazine feed lips
Description
I ordered a kwa akg-74 on ebay. Lo and behold the magazine had broken feed lips upon arrival so I decided to see if I could design a pair. I printed this on a sparkmaker printer out of the tough resin. Therefore I thought that the specific type of resin would hold up to the pressure exerted on the lips while being used. The v2 worked very well when I installed it into the magazine. However, I didn't allow the resin enough time to cure before putting it under load and the lips bent a little. Other than a mis-feed every other mag or so the lips worked fine. Unfortunately I left the magazine in a cold place overnight and the stress and cold caused the lips to crack in two places making it unusable. However, I believe the cold weather was the main reason the resin cracked, not the design. I have also uploaded a v3 that has some alterations and reinforcements made to it. I have not tried printing it yet, but I am fairly confident that it will work just as well as the other. I am also not certain if this is possible to print with abs or any other plastic. Nylon may work well, but I have yet to test it.
