Bondtech BMG Mount for Seemecnc Effector Plate
Description
I have been using an effector mounted Titan Aero on my Artemis printer with a .9 pancake stepper from E3d. On my Rostock Max I have been using an effector mounted Bondtech BMG with a 1.8 stepper from robotdigg. Opinions/Findings; -Direct mount on a large delta yields far better results than Bowden even though you lose speed and print height. -A direct mount Bondtech BMG with a 1.8 stepper motor is a wonderful (perhaps the best) combination. Why; The BMG much easier to work with in terms of loading and unloading filament. 1.8 is also IMHO better for a geared extruder because the number of steps needed per 100mm is lower. Up to now, I have been using Sublime Layers aka Hackney's Bondtech mount. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2445640 The mount I designed differs as follows. 1) the stepper mount is not integrated into the design, the stepper mount bolts onto the mounting plate; I have a bondtech plate on order which is smaller than the one illustrated 2) there are two versions; one for melt in nuts (7 melt in nuts, 3 top for the CNC plate and 4 bottom for the nema pancake mount); and the second with through holes for 3mm bolts and lock nuts. The order of assembly is less of a consideration for the melt in version. 3) there is good clearance for the BMG lever on a standard seemed effector plate; clearance can be obtained w/o a plate from 713maker 4) bolts are used as opposed to machine screws. 5) cooling may be for a next version.
