IKEA Gladom bottom tray frame clip

IKEA Gladom bottom tray frame clip

Description

The IKEA Gladom is a cheap steel side table that is very suitable for IKEAHacking. The top serving tray is not directly attached to the frame and can easily be replaced by any other object of your preference that is 44cm in diameter. In fact, if you want to stay in the IKEA store their Skala wood serving tray fits perfectly as a drop-in replacement, giving it a chic midcentury-modern vibe. However, you don't want your original Gladom tray to go to waste. Print 4 of these simple frame clips and you can rest your original Gladom tray on the bottom cross of the frame. The clips have a raised edge to help keep the tray centered and in place. I've printed these in flexible TPU95, but the clips should still fit onto the frame if you use PLA or other non-flexible materials. I've written a blog about this IKEA hack here: https://style.oversubstance.net/2019/03/ikea-gladom-hack/ *The wood serving tray (from Dille & Kamille) in the picture is actually 45cm wide and was dremeled down in the 4 corners to fit into the frame.*
