Small 15x15 Grid GeoBoard

Small 15x15 Grid GeoBoard

Description

##Introduction Our math teacher was looking for a 15x15 Cartesian Geoboard similar to [this](https://www.hand2mind.com/item/xy-coordinate-pegboards-set-of-6/4559) sold at Hand2Mind. For a class set, this would be cost prohibitive. We looked at fabricating our own. ![alt text](https://thumbnails-photos.amazon.com/v1/thumbnail/P7DuMBbiSumNGWORnD5qGg?viewBox=1004%2C907&ownerId=A3QS81I1K47C70 "Laser Cut Geoboards") ##Laser Cutting We used a simple 15 x 15 grid of 0.120" holes to make individual geoboards to teach concepts related to cartesian grids. The holes are sized so that with the kerf of the laser, the holes will come out 0.125". A 1/8" metal rod is cut down to 1" pegs that can be used with rubber bands to create geometric shapes on the Cartesian grid. There are a number of lessons and curricula that utilize the Geoboard such as this [one](https://www.hand2mind.com/pdf/hos/hos-cce-online/e78864_HOS_CCE_Grade%208/e78864_CCE_8_G5.pdf) from [hand2mind](https://www.hand2mind.com/). There are also on-line [alternatives](https://apps.mathlearningcenter.org/geoboard/) to the Geoboard, as well.
