Bed Handle for Lulzbot Taz 1-5 printers
Description
Have you ever gone to remove a part from your 3d printer and burned the crap out of yourself? I sure have! This project started out life as a front roller mount for my as yet to be published conveyor belt bed project. I found that the front roller was actually really really useful on its own as a handle to hold the moving bed steady while removing parts, which reduces wear on the bed surface and lets me remove the parts quicker. It uses 1 Transfer roller from an HP Laserjet 8150 printer (widely available on Ebay or similar sites for around $5.00) and a few 8mm long M3 cap head bolts. Print both pieces, bolt them in place, etc. The soft foam roller core makes an excellent handle core for this project. As the foam is mostly air, it adds much less weight than it looks. This will not fit the taz 6 bed.
