Catamaran RC Boat

Catamaran RC Boat

Description

Thank you for checking out my RC boat design! I printed my boat at 17.5% scale (biggest my printer could handle) and it floats well and drives around much faster than I thought it would. I designed this catamaran with hollow hulls so you can include batteries, a receiver, and motors to make it radio controlled. I used the flexing battery holders by enif and left them loose inside the hulls so that they can be moved to perfectly balance the boat. My motors run on 2x 4.5v (3 AA) arrays in parallel. (I scavenged my parts from one of these https://www.amazon.com/Latburg-Control-Electric-Changeable-Battleship/dp/B077BWK1XB/ref=sr_1_12?keywords=rc+boat&qid=1552110751&s=gateway&sr=8-12 (They are only around 12.00 USD on eBay) The hulls can be printed as one piece or two, depending on the scale you're printing. I glued the "Mast Plate" part to the "Hull Bow Section" but the rest of the mast assembly is friction fit. Because they are such small parts, I assumed the top and bottom of the mast would eventually be broken. When they break just print a replacement and press it together. The Battery Holders are designed by enif. Check out their work, they have all different sizes. The chairs on the "Sun Deck" are designed by florezescobar. The Tender has been remixed for this model. It was originally designed by Jabberwock. The "Tender" and "Fender" parts are suspended by sewing thread.
