Oculus Rift Gun Stock
Description
This is a remix of the Oculus Touch Split Gun Stock by Djacobs123. I love the splitting gun stock idea because it allows much more freedom without removing controllers from the handles. But I really wanted to have a buttstock as well for a lot of the shooting games I play too. The following modifications made to the original are: - Changed from 4x10mm magnets to 5x8mm magnets due to magnet availability and price. - Removed outter holes for screws and opted out for using epoxy to set the magnets and plates to make it look a bit nicer on the outside and to reduce cost. - Added a lip on each cup so when breaking the gunstock in half it doesn't slip out of your hands as easily and doesn't force you to grip tighter accidentally pressing the grip button. - Added buttstock attachment to the right hand and made it friction fit so it can be easily removed if needed. BOM: - 8mm x 3mm magnet on amazon: https://geni.us/wV27d - 80-90mm Steel braces: Local hardware store (or any other metal that fits) - 2x M5x20mm bolts + 2x M5 nuts - 1x M3x30mm bolt + 1x M3 nut EDIT - Based on comments, I made the stock clip slightly smaller to allow for a easier fit. If it doesn't fit right away, do not force it together. Should still be sanded a bit based on printer tolerances. Only light sanding may be required still. Updated BOM for larger bolt. Opening of the holes are about 7mm, but the nut inside may be tight with even an M6. So using an M5 with some sort of weak adhesive (hot glue, dab of super glue, loctite, etc) should still work great. I'm currently using M4 + hot glue without an issue. EDIT 2 - Added mount for the wall. Print 2 and space them properly. Sits really nicely on the wall with these
