Dewalt 660 Chuck Suction Knob
Description

Replacement Chuck Knob for Dewalt 660

UPDATE 2019-04-26:
Well that's embarrassing, I've been using it for the last few months and just noticed that I'd designed it to spin in the wrong direction. Now mirrored, printed, trialed, and re-uploaded. It seems to work fine in the original, but this new version seems to provide a little more suction and avoid dust buildup better.
Easier to use
The chuck knob on the Dewalt 660 may work well for tool-less changes when used as a hand tool, but I found it awkward to use when it was mounted into the MPCNC. This knob eliminates the button from the original knob, making it easier to tighten and loosen. This also means it spins with the chuck, so probably not a good idea for handheld use.
Chip clearing fan
The knob integrates a suction fan which clears chips from the tool cutter. It took several iterations to get a shape that worked well and that wasn't prone to chip buildup. I originally tried to generate a blower, to blow air into the cut, but the shape didn't lend itself to that air flow direction. A radial suction fan works much better and in my testing does a great job of clearing chips from the tool path. You can't hear it over the Dewalt 660, I was worried that it might scream, but you can't hear the difference with or without. It does blow the chips well clear of the machine. I have mine inside an enclosure and I find that most of the chips hit the walls and fall down, accumulating along the walls.
