Mouse Pad Clip
Description
I wanted to model a print-in-place part with working hinges so I thought why not make a clip to hold my mousepad together when it is rolled up in my backpack, sure I could have used a rubber band like a normal person but where is the fun in that? Designed in Fusion 360, printed with a 0.2mm nozzle due to the tight tolerances and considering the size of the model (40mm inner diameter). If you only have a 0.4mm nozzle I would suggest scaling the model up by roughly 30% or until you notice the model not missing parts when viewing it in your slicer program. Do print with supports, but only in one particular place: the ball joint at the end of the piece, the rest of the print, the socket joint and especially the hinge does not need support as it might get stuck together if you do use them. If you for example use Cura you can put support blockers in those areas. Lastly, I suggest putting a raft underneath to prevent the first layer becoming too squished and glueing the hinge together. Happy printing!
