Torque Arm for HP Velotechnik Gekko and Bafang hub motor
Description
This is a torque arm which allows you to install a Bafang hub motor on an HP Velotechnik Gekko recumbent trike without having to worry about the axle spinning out and chewing up your aluminum alloy dropouts. The four clamps are cut from 1/8" material. The arm itself is cut from 1/4" material. I had them cut in stainless steel on a waterjet cutter. I've included photos of me holding the 3D printed prototype to (hopefully) clarify how the pieces fit together. The torque arm fits over the left-hand side of the hub motor axle, then the clamps can be slid along the torque arm until they align with the notches in the torque arm, and finally the clamps are pushed together, clamping around the chainstay.
