Pencil
Description
Print your own pencil in dual color! The design was made using Fusion 360. It is based on the famous Bic Cristal pencil and uses the filling and ballpoint from this pen. I have printed the pencil with the Woodfill Colorfabb filament for the grip and Corkfill Colorfabb filament for the other parts. I did not sand the pencil as I like the grip to feel a little rough. It gives the pencil a wood like appearance. You can construct the pen with your initial on the end (End Part A…Z) or use a blank version (End Part Blank). Store the pencil using a cap, using the stand on your desk or use the box to store it. Required stuff: * A Bic Cristal pencil for the filling. * Two types of filament * super glue to join the parts * optional a 4 mm drill Instructions for assembly (see pictures): * Remove the filling from the Bic Cristal pencil * Print the parts, I used a brim especially to fix the smaller parts to the build plate. All parts can be printed without supports. Settings used: 190dC nozzle temp, 60 dC bed temperature, 60 mm/s. * Depending on your printer, you might have to drill the tip (BasePart2) carefully with the 4 mm drill by hand so the pencil filling will fit. * Glue and insert the base parts into the grip. * Glue the “end part” to the BasePart1 (only the blank part has a little notch to fix it to the BasePart1). * Insert pencil filling. * Start writing. The box has been printed using ColorFabb Woodfill. It is the same box as I have designed for my DrWho screwdriver project. Two versions are uploaded. I have used the 2 mm version in combination with a paperclip for the hinges. You can also use the three mm version in combination with a piece of filament to create the hinge. Have 3D printing fun!
