Multimeter Back Cover/Stand
Description
Get your Geek on! I created a replacement back and rear stand/cover for a commonly found multi-meter. I love these little tools, but they don't store well as there is no cable management. I incorporated a feature to wrap the cables and store the probes neatly during storage. It also doubles as a stand to prop the unit at optimal viewing angle while in use. IMPORTANT / PLEASE READ BEFORE DOWNLOAD: Turns out there are several versions of this multi-meter that all look identical and even have same part number. I did not realize there were different versions until I tried to adapt a second unit. The parts I originally loaded were for the version with 5 large recessed surfaces in grip area on each side. (See attached image). I have modified the files to fit what I am calling version 2 with 1 large recess surface and an array of vertical lines in the grip area on each side. This unit measures 68mm x 126mm where the original measures 73mm x 127mm. Version 2 files are designated as v2 in download files. There could very well be other discrepancies if different factories have been making these. Check dimensions to your unit and you can possibly adjust the x & y scale to fit. UNFORTUNATELY THE "DOWNLOAD ALL" TAB IS CORRUPT AND RETURNS A 404 ERROR. THIS IS A MAKERBOT SITE ISSUE. IF YOU GO TO THE "THING FILES" TAB AND DOWNLOAD EACH FILE INDIVIDUALLY, THAT WORKS. SORRY FOR YOUR TROUBLE! SEND A COMPLAINT TO THINGIVERSE. UPDATE 8/26/19: While my intention was to store the wires and I designed it with 1 access hole closest to jacks, Ipleedthe5th suggested having the access on the opposite side for less strain on the wires. It doesn't hurt to have 2 access holes and gives people a choice; so I have updated the stands in both versions to have 2 access holes for the wires.
