Bottle thread patterns

Bottle thread patterns

Description

**This is not a complete thing for printing.** This is a helpful model for _your designs_. ### Where to use these patterns. Well, use your imagination :) Here are my examples: - coupling for a bottle and the funnel from the same bottle. - tiny cans with colored caps. You'll not need to print the lids, just use them from the bottles. - completely printed models - the box and the lid. ### Examlpes [Silica gel can](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3534054) [Tiny cans](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3548338) [Barrel extender](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4550274) --- **DON'T change the height of the models, you can completely messed up the thread.** Inrease the thread instead, see info below. ### Cola bottle, aprox. 27mm _Thread pitch 3mm, one thread._ Bottles may differ by ~0.2 mm in diameter. The models are designed to more or less meet this inaccuracy. Make sense to change the diameter of the models in ±0.2 mm. Bear in mind that this change will slightly straying the thread pitch. To increase the thread of the bolt (or pipe) is enough to duplicate it and raise to a height. But with the nut I couldn't pull out the Tinkercad to exact cut. Therefore, duplicate the model, raise to a height and rotate clockwise by 30°. **25 bolt.stl** - external thread, analogue of the bottle neck. **25 nut.stl** - internal thread, analogue of the bottle cap. The diameter of the nut on 1.2 mm larger than the bolt. Fits to bottle. Fits like a nut to a bolt model. **25 tube.stl** is the same bolt, only hollow inside. Just for the convenience of modeling. ### Milk bottle, apox. 36mm _Thread pitch - 8.36 mm, three threads._ The threads are increasing without any problems, you do not need to turn the models. Just duplicate and raise on height. **36 bolt.stl** - external thread, analogue of the neck of the milk bottle. Of course this is not an exact copy, but the lids of such bottles are perfectly screwed. If you increase the bolt diameter by 0.4 mm, the bottle caps will tightly screwing onto the bolt. This is a limit. **36 nut.stl** - internal thread, analogue of milk bottle cap. The diameter of the nut on 1mm larger than the bolt. It made for free screwing on both the bottle and the bolt. You can reduce the diameter of the nut by 0.2 mm - will be tightly screwed on the bottle, but will not fit the bolt. And that's the limit, no sense to reduce more. **36 tube.stl** is the same bolt, only hollow inside. Just for the convenience of modeling. ### Sources [Tinkercad](https://www.tinkercad.com/things/h4HWWEa7oGp) ### Updates 06/04/2019 Added 25th patterns. Replaced all models of 36th.
