Weatherproof sliding lid Xiaomi Yi case with GoPro mount
Description
This is a semi waterproof GoPro mount case for a Xiaomi Yi original action cam. I designed it for a helmet chin mount scenario for my AGV K3 SV helmet, where the underwater housing is overkill, but it's actually useful for any situation where you have a GoPro mount and need to securely mount the Yi. To make it weatherproof - there are small recesses around the button holes around the inside of the case, so you can glue small tpu/rubber membranes over the switches. I didn't show this in the pictures, because I didn't need my setup weatherproof in the end. It has a sliding door at the back which clicks in to secure the Yi. It's very unlikely to every slide open - I designed it with quite tight tolerances in the click - it needs your finger to gingerly lift the lid back in order to slide it out. There is quite a bit of friction to keep it shut. A lens ring is included which can be glued to the front of the case and over the lens barrel. You can then glue a small circular 30mm diameter watch front glass to it, giving the Yi weather protection. Water will still get in through the sliding lid interface if it's under pressure, but it's 99% there. It's very strong in ABS, and is actually motorcycle crash proven! Since the pictures, I slimmed the GoPro prongs to allow more rotation, so it can be mounted in more situations. UPDATE 1: There are now 2 versions of the case - 1 has the GoPro mount centered to the lens, and the other has the GoPro mount in the middle of the case body.
