Butterfly EL wire lamp
Description
I decided my daughter deserve beauty through the night so i build this magnificient little glowing butterfly. It use 2.3 mm diameter and 1m length EL wire (cutted to length needed). EL wire glow with the rate of change in electric potential between two parallel but non touching electrodes. There are optimal potential and frequency that make EL wire glow a max, but for that project, simply plug directly in AC outlet work for me. Wire glowing is faint, but sufficient for that purpose. One can use a AC-DC power supply and a inverter that generate few kHz high voltage signal, but this electronics must stay outside that model because there are just enough space to connect the EL Wire together. The idea here is to pass EL wire outside and inside the box trough holes to make possible the use of one wire for more than one shape. Have fun ! If the wire do not hold well itself on the slot, simply put a bit of CA glue. There is a circular pattern of hole in the socket. Use two of them only to put in the wall. The butterfly and the box need to be glued together wi th CA superglue. * Printed with a CR-10
