Y-axis handle weel for mini milling machine

Y-axis handle weel for mini milling machine

Description

Unfortunately Y-axis wheel was broken during transport. Usually the replacement should be machined from aluminum... but I decided to try printing it out of plastic. Not the best solution but allowed me to quickly start using the machine and slightly reduce the cost of repairs. I decided to reuse the inside part (with a limb and a seat on the shaft), and print only the wheel. The inner part was milled under the square, then was heated and fused into a plastic wheel. The cross section of the aluminum part is 0.5-1 mm larger than the seat in the plastic. To obtain acceptable mechanical strength, the part was printed with 6 perimeters and fillings of 75%. Combination of ABS, sanding and acetone made it possible to get smooth surface to reduce contamination during work. Was designed for is Rotwerk EFM 200, but should also feet for Sieg SX2 and similar mini milling machines.
