Jeep / Dodge window regulator fix / repair
Description
Here is a part to fix the problematic window regulators on Jeep, Dodge, and anything that uses similar plastic window regulators that hold the cables around '98-'04. Aside from this part, what you need is a cotter pin to hold it in place and use a Dremel or something to remove the metal tabs when you remove the plastic piece that the cables attach to (ATM current Shapeways version where the cotter pins go may need to be drilled a little larger). The cotter pin needs go through the block, out far enough to splay the ends, and them still contact the metal. YouTube how-to video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw860iTM67I Shapeways: https://www.shapeways.com/product/TXWZRHZ2C/jeep-dodge-window-regulator-rev-g-upgrade-repair You will need a strong material or it will just break again. DON'T use: ABS, PLA, PETG, PET+, or anything with similar material properties. Ones I would recommend are: PCMAX, Taulman 910, maybe Taulman 645 at the low end (I've only tried PCMAX and it's been working). Some of the other strong Taulman nylons may work or anything with similar material properties. At least for a while. The one I printed in PCMAX has yet to fail and it's been about a year. I am also selling another version on Shapeways because the process and material is stronger than you can achieve on a consumer 3d printer. It's much less expensive than replacing your regulator and lasts much longer. The current gen I printed from Shapeways have not failed. They have been good for the last 8 years. NOTE: I do plan on improving the Shapeways design so it hopefully won't require drilling and locating specific cotter pins on amazon or something for an easier process. Send me a message if you get stuck or have any questions and I'll try and help you out.
