CRF450 Valve compression tool (2005)
Description
Simple tool to assist in removing your keepers from your valve springs. (Used in conjunction with a C-clamp of proper length.) I printed this out of Alloy 910 so it would be wicked tough, and it worked great for me. I added a small 3mm deep by 6mm wide hole at the top for a 6mm magnet to be inserted. Of course this is not necessary, but just helps aid in keeping everything aligned. The pictures are of the Gen1 tool. I had to turn it down on my lathe at the base because it was too wide and wouldn't slide over the exhaust valves with the spark plug chamber in the way. So the Gen 2 tool is skinnier. (Hopefully this doesn't cause anyone any issues.) Just a side note: I designed this around the dimensions of my intake valve springs. Only to find out later when using it, that the exhaust valve springs are actually slightly larger in diameter. This didn't seem to matter however, (although a tight fit) it still slid over the exhaust valve springs snuggly and worked great. **UPDATE** I installed new ProX steel intake valves and springs on my 450x, and the springs that came with it were just like my exhaust springs fitment-wise... They were tight, but still fit snuggly into the tool and worked for me perfectly.
