Clonetrooper armor and helmet (Star Wars)
Description
If you enjoy the files, please consider sending me a tip. Model is free but creating it took a great deal of time and effort. Also an extra buck would help me to further improve this armor during these trying times. Thank you... **PLEASE READ CAREFULY** Update [11-11-2020]: *Uploaded new version of belt boxes and abdomen armor, added belt. Belt has integrated hooks and hangs from the abdomen armor. Both also split into front and back parts for easier dress-up (belt seam is hidden under boxes, those boxes are attached to the front part of belt). Belt has flat parts for gluing boxes to. There is small gap under the belt for kama if you wish to add it to your armor.* Update [25-8-2020]: *Uploaded new version of thermal detonator canister. It has registration marks for easier assembly and the main body is hollow, so you save some filament and weight.* Update [29-6-2020]: *Uploaded slightly adjusted shoulders and thicker variant for bicep pieces. According to official Lucasfilm renders, bicep armor is about twice as thick than the rest of armor. I recommend using the thicker variant, but if you have stronger arms and don't want to change proportions, use the thin-walled version.* Update [18-6-2020]: *Uploaded new version of thigh pieces.* Update [28-5-2020]: *Uploaded new version of knee pieces.* Update [19-5-2020]: *I have finally uploaded new versions of cod piece and whole arms. They are listed at the bottom of the thing files list. I've came across some high definition renders straight from Lucalsfilm so I have now better refference images and I'll continue reworking the whole armor in following weeks and months to ensure the best accuracy possible.* Update [11-9-2019]: *I've uploaded helmet sliced into several parts, print them as oriented. Parts fit Prusa i3 printers.* Update [20-8-2019]: *Added helmet* Update [28-5-2019]: *I never expected so many people to like my work, thank you all... If you make this armor, please post your make here, I would very much like to see some pictures.* --- Realistic screen accurate clonetrooper armor as seen in Star Wars Episode II and III. This armor is approvable by Rebel Legion (non-profit Star Wars costuming group). You will need about 6 kg of filament to print this armor. I recommend PETG, ASA or ABS to avoid warping of printed parts in hot weather or during transport in hot car. 2 perimeters and 20% infill should be enough, you can do more but bear in mind that ammount of filament needed will grow significantly at this volume. Armor is 5 mm thick and fitted for skinny / average body build around 180 cm tall. You will most probably need to adjust size of some parts. I'm 190 cm tall skinny and most parts fit me at 105% - 110% size, except for forearms which are long enough so I only widened them to 110% in X and Y to put my arms through. The same follows for lower legs. Thighs are similarly 105% in X and Y. Measure your body carefully and print test slices to see if the it fits you before printing the whole part. Helmet is split into 2 parts, otherwise it would be impossible to put it on. The back piece can be attached by elastic and/or magnets. Bigger hole would allow the helmet to be in one piece, but then it wouldn't be movie accurate. (Unfortunately all the Clonetroopers were CGI, so there were no ergonomics in mind for this design.) Abdomen armor is split into 2 parts so you can put it on. It can be held together by snaps or elastic straps. (Outdated) Belt boxes are held by several layers of 3mm sheet PVC (sintra). I will post photos as soon as I can, but I'm sure experienced makers will find out how to construct the belt themseves. Same goes for the shoulder straps, you can make them by laying-over 2 layers of 3 mm sintra one one full, one with cutouts resembling ladder. Search internet for images... Also I know there are missing creases on the back of heels but I wasn't able to put them into the model, since I was upscaling it from game files and not modeling it from scratch, if someone is able to do it, hit me up in comments and I'll update it. Either way, you can carve them into printed parts using rotary tool or small needle files. Do NOT sell this model... EVER, you can charge for work (and materials of course) if you are making it for someone else but the model itself must be free!
