Caulk Tube Plug

Caulk Tube Plug

Description

I tried other caulk tube plugs on Thingiverse, but they didn't seal as well as I'd like. So, I decided to try my hand as an OpenJSCAD design. For my first try, it worked so/so. Including the JSCAD file if someone wants to improve it. It is specifically designed for a tip cut at a 45 degree angle. Theoretically it will snap in and seal tightly. I say theoretically because my first use of one, it still didn't align perfectly. But it was much better than a simple cone plug. Update: Version 2 works much better. I redesigned it so it snaps in place very snugly. Also changed the base to something easy to push and pull. I also re-coded so all of the parameters are configurable in the jscad. The version 2 plug is designed for a 40 degree angle, as that seems to be what I end up cutting in my tubes. The caulk_tube_plug_v2 is a bit small. Works fine for standard tubes of caulk, silicone, etc. If you are using on bigger tubes (or you are cutting further up the tip of the tube) you'll need to scale up when printing.
