Polish TKS-D (The Second Prototype)
Description
The Polish had two TKS-D's and they had different bodies. Most pictures show the 1st prototype and this is also what JARLANG has published. This model is the 2nd prototype with several changes to the hull as detailed in the design section below. The most notable difference between the two prototypes was the higher hull sides of the 2nd TKS-D. Along with the first prototype, these two vehicles were the first purpose built tank destroyers to actually see combat. The served well in the Reconnaissance Battalion of the 10th Cavalry Brigade in almost daily combat with one being knocked out on Sept 5th and the second one being knocked out on Sept 9th. The track set includes a plate to help you align the tracks with the top of the fender. This plate also provides more durability to the small details in the suspension. Note that just as in JARLANG's original model, the reach track guards are delicate so these may snap off when handled or when the model is removed form the supports. This model is in 1/56 scale June 13, 2000 - Updated the file to include more durable rear track guards. Most of my prints had the rear track guards come off with the support so this file includes a tweak to more firmly join the guards to the hull.
