Landing Craft - Guns (Medium): 1:300
Description
This is a 1/300 waterline model of the LCG(M) or Medium Landing Craft-Guns, for coastal naval wargaming. It was a sort of armoured gunboat built by adding a ship's bow, armour plating and gun-turrets to a LCT. It was used to provide support fire against coastal defences and fortifications during amphibious landings. They also sometimes engaged enemy vessels, particularly f-lighters in the Mediterranean. Armed with 2 x 25-pdr guns in armoured turrets, as well as 2 oerlikons aft of the bridge (not included yet - use those with my vosper type II or guns from Deweycat's excellent gunpack for now). Also a number of machine guns. A direct equivalent and counter for those pesky f-lighters (and faster - it can make 12 knots!) Holes are provided for the mast and the stern derick (copper wire or paperclips should work nicely). I printed it at 0.15mm layer height in esun pla+ on my ender3. Support isn't needed for the boat hull, but will be for the gun turrets.
