XDEEP Dump Valve Handle Extension Sphere
Description
This is an extension for the dump valve handle of XDEEP buoyancy compensators for technical diving. I made this for my XDEEP NX Project but I think it should work with any other of their wings or sidmount wings. I found the existing handle of the dump valve to be quite small and I had difficulties grabbing it with my gloves so I designed this set of two hemispheres and two pins that engulf the existing handle and become a bigger sphere-shaped handle. The idea is that maybe for some penetration dives it might be better to have a small handle to avoid potential hazards or that you maybe wish to sell your equipment one day and this makes the changes to the handle completely revertible as you can just remove the two hemispheres and the old handle will be there, like new and untouched. Usage: - you need to print two hemispheres and two pins - the pins are loose to allow for glue placement around them in the two hemisphere's holes (the idea is not that the pins hold by themselves without glue as two layers could easily separate resulting in separations of the two hemispheres) - it's recommended to also put some glue on the two flat surfaces of the two hemispheres but not in the hole for the original handle I've tested it in 3 cave dives so far and I'm happy with it. The infill affects its buoyancy and I personally have it floating above the dump valve next to the wing. Edit: After seikossss' suggestion, I made a version of the hemisphere with a water drainage hole on the sides (thus the whole sphere would have two 4mm drains) in case you prefer that version.
