Foal Remedial Club Foot Shoe

Foal Remedial Club Foot Shoe

Description

Remedial shoes for foals displaying leg faults are quite often extremely expensive (regularly 80 - 120 USD). Still they're basically only pieces of plastic ! Hence now you can print your own, and adapt their size exactly to your needs ! A club foot is characterized by a hoof-wall angle that is too steep. Unusual hoof growth is also a hallmark of a club foot. Considered a flexural deformity of the coffin joint, a club foot results from shortening of the deep digital flexor tendon, which pulls up the heel and changes the angle of the pastern joint. With the help of this club foot shoe the foal uses the entire hoof and does not overexert the flexor tendons. This relieves the suspension apparatus of the coffin bone and reduces the risk of laminitis with coffin bone rotation. Ask your vet for proper advices in the management of club feet in foals ;)
