Quarter counter

Quarter counter

Description

We have rental property with coin operated laundry machines - lots of quarters need to be counted and put in wrappers. I tried most of the coin counters around here but the best one I found was not working very well - too thin and fragile! So (like everyone else, I guess) I decided to design my own. This is for quarters only, 40 of them, and I wanted the printed item to weigh 30 grams if possible to make it easier to weigh it to check the count - it should come out to 255-257 grams. When it's got the right number of quarters if you add one more it will slide back out with a simple push of a finger on the top. The slots also let you check to see if the count is correct. After loading the tube and tapping it a bit, the topmost quarter should be very close to the top of the slot but not over. If the count is low, there will be room for one more quarter. I also wanted the tube to be wide enough to allow sliding the paper sleeve all the way down around the quarters. it's a bit tight with some sleeves but it does work. You can push the stack up into the sleeve just a little and fold down the top, then invert the tube and pull the sleeve out to close off the other end. I hope you find this as useful as I have!
