Horseshoe Bend, Arizona - Photogrammetry
Description
This is the famous Horseshoe Bend in Arizona. This is not an ordinary height map driven model. It is a photogrammetry scan of the 3d information in Google Earth. So it's essentially a copy of a copy, but still plenty accurate. Normally a height map driven model will loose detail on near vertical cliffs because it only contains one dimension of detail. A full scan of the area can resolve that lost detail. I only printed this at about 30% scale since I'm a little low on filament at the moment. But I'm sure some of you will print it at 100% or higher. You can print it flat or on it's largest edge for different effects. Printing it flat will produce a neat topographical map effect and on edge will create smoother details. Happy printing!
