Prosthetic Claw/Hand
Description
Doing a prototype replacement hand for a guy that somehow has no digits, just one thumb metacarpal which could give some power because the wrist operated hands don't seem to be much use for finer functions like squeezing the toothpaste, opening a popsicle or sewing etc. This is the first one and hopefully it can print as one piece and be functionable right off the printer. Print in shown orientation with support. Here's the Orchard dev tree if anyone gets some incentive, blah blah blah https://3dorchard.com/app/single/5cd314a233c9820c8759e607/5ce1b350cb95040ba114fe7f Original is designed with some assembly, but doing it in one piece will be fun if it's possible and may cement my use of functionable into the vernacular. I found a faster way to produce the trace of the appendage from the photo using a transparency over my display, then using a Sharpie for tracing into Orchard with their Sketch function. Just need a scaling reference in the photo. Look for my 20cm Grid if you don't have a ruler, etc. Orchard has a Mirror function for the other hand. The rotating pin of the actuatar is too big on this version so it will fuse to the housing. I have done another version with more clearance. Here's a new test model of the mechanism for when I get access to a printer... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3651225
