Anet A8 Modular E3D V6 (Volcano) Bowden Print Head
Description
I was dissatisfied with various available options for Anet A8 back in the day and I wanted a bowden extruder, so I found this: Modular E3D V6 mount (use the backplate from this one) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2193695 and built this project around it. I wanted something modular and lightweight - so I decided to come up with 2 bolt attachment idea. Remarks: * Due to the adjustable height of the fans it also supports Volcano extension! (I used a knockoff one and I can run 250 degrees on 0.6mm nozzle with no problem), * It requires 2 side fans so be ready for it, * I am not providing any bowden mount - basically anything will work, so please do your own search and pick the one that's perfect for your application :), * I can't recall where I got the fan ducts from so please forgive me - I believe they are just like the original Anet A8 ducts, * Hardware is mostly M3, except for the base which uses M4 - please refer to the original design (link above) for information, * You may have to route the heater and thermistor wiring towards the front for cable management, * The ducts don't always sit snugly in the fans, so use a piece of tape of glue to affix them to the fans, * The design is pretty compact but the right hand side fan unfortunately has to suck warm air due to its orientation, so the right hand side mount has cutouts to provide air intake - it's not perfect but it works, * I printed that in PLA and used cheap knockoff of the V6 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074NX68MP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) - it works flawlessly for years now!
