Tiny FPV Hovercraft (2"/50mm prop, 1106 Motor, high speed)

Description

Demonstration and how to build: https://youtu.be/IR8SZbQjCBs Small hovercraft designed for 1106 or 1104 brushless motors and 2" 50mm propellers. It was designed to be stable at high speeds with the right skirt and to be printed on a 200mm bed printer. With a 3s lipo and a smooth surface this hovercraft will be very fast. All electronics should be taped to the inside. Any wires going out to the top should go through the back where the "back door" file will provide a seal which should be cut for your cables and can be inserted into the back gap. The rudder and back motor assembly should be inserted and glued into the notches in the back of the main top plate. The rudder is either screwed or glued onto the servo horn. For additional style and stability a 50mm prop guard can be used like on the picture. Sadly the exact one is not available anymore but might still be found somewhere or something else should fit. If everything should be printed and no propguard is available: The top was updated with a smaller propeller hole for use without the propguard and a rear motor holder with included stiffening parts without the propguard. The skirt should be sandwiched between the top and bottom part. Screws can either be put through the skirt or if it is large enough under the skirt. It should be a flexible plastic foil. Experiment with different materials. Some might not work at all if it is too stiff and can't make a good seal. I found out some trash bags or painters foil work well. Some adjustment might be needed. The small bottom frame is used to surround the center hole and hold the skirt in place. This part should be open and will allow the air to exit and create the uplift. Cut around 10cm larger than the bottom, experiment with different materials. If you don't have the 50mm propguards from the picture: print the "no propguard" versions of the base and rear models.
