Dremel turbine (remix)

Dremel turbine (remix)

Description

I printed Landru's design for the Dremel turbine and have to say that I was very impressed with the final result. I did find some drawbacks thought and in this remix I fixed them all! For starters, the little circles that pressed together were awful. They all broke off the first time I use it and had to remove it from my Dremel 3000. The fact that it had to be screwed together every time didnt impress me either so I designed a completly new way of mounting with a very simple but hopefully reliable latch mechanism. All you need to do now is simply press the pieces together and twist it. Its that simple! I also didnt like the short tube so I enlarged it to stick out right to the edge of the turbine. The fit of the impeller was awfully tight for me. So tight I eneded up breaking 3 impellers. The impeller had to be mirrored every time and some people forgot to do it. So I enlarged the hole by 0.1mm and mirrored it correctly. All you have to do is slice it. I exported all the files in high resolution for a nicer finish. Thats pretty much it. When I have the time I will print it and post pictures but if anyone prints it first-I would love to see your result. Enjoy ;) EDIT 7th May 2019: I finally got around to printing this and the first thing I did was that I broke the little latches...:O They were too weak. The tolerances werent enough so the parts needed a lot of sanding to fit. I also screwed the impeller on sideways. But after breaking the latches everything still snapped together well despite those tiny bits missing. So I redid everything. I made a new body and a new mount with hopefully better tolerances (0.6mm) and I also redid the impeller. Now it has an M7 dremel nut (the one you get with your flex shaft and every attachment you buy from them) opening and allows you to screw the nut on and glue the impeller straight to it with epoxy. The fit is a bit loose but after gluing everything feels sturdy and the impeller is simple to attach and reattach. The lid now snaps together well and there is no fear of those circles breaking away.
