DIY Articulating Arm
Description
This articulating arm is based on the NOGA articulating arm used for dial indicators and camera holding. I set out to create a larger version that uses hardware store parts for the common features and 3d printing (NO supports need) for the unique features. I also incorporates a swivel feature by forming two 3D printed feature that form an inner and outer 'bearing' race. Pieces of unprinted filament are used as the bearing and inserted into the bearing from outside the parts. I've included the STP file for those that want to modify the design or convert to metric (sorry the design is based on US standards for PVC plumbing, hardware and dimensional lumber). The hardest part of the design was sourcing good quality wooden dowels that were somewhat accurate in diameter.
