Dice Tray and Holder
Description
Designed this in Autodesk Inventor after building a really nice dice box designed by Aethernex and playing with an old, sliding-top cigar box. It is intended to hold 2 ("Chessex-sized") boxes of polyhedral dice, with space to use as a die-rolling area. Since the lid slides shut, it can also be used to carry minis, spell cards, etc. NOTE: Images on this page are INVENTOR RENDERS, not actual prints! See Makes for real results. Getting letters/logos to sit neatly in embossed areas has been problematic. Extruded and/or embossed logos (in 1 filament) have looked pretty nice, though! I'm slow and haven't taken photos of my final results, but will eventually get around to it. There are several versions of the box. My naming conventions could have been more consistent as this evolved. The zip and final file versions are numbered appropriately. I left the original files up at the bottom of the list, just in case you were confused by the update. The box has several versions. One prints as just 2 parts (box and sliding top) with the D&D logo extruded outward on the sides and top. A second version requires 5 printed parts -- box, top, top letters, and two sets of side logos. The top and side have the design embossed/etched inward, with matching lettering that can be printed in another filament color and glued in after. By request I've added a third version that is devoid of logos (with and without dividers). And finally, also by request, the 4th and 5th versions have Cthulhu logos/lettering, one that is extruded and the other that is etched with inset lettering on the top. I'm shifting this from WIP to final version status, because I think I'm tired of looking at it!
