BSA WB Beaver Finial

BSA WB Beaver Finial

Description

I pulled the Main chewed wood model from SJSUSERC http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2967140 superimposed a flur-de-lis and tail as part of the middle. Top is a model from the chess set by MorenaP http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:20524 . I don't have near the creativity and skills these people do. This is designed as a topper for a patrol flag for a BSA Wood badge course. It is in three parts because my printer isn't big enough to print it all at once. I highly recommend supports for the top and middle. The middle should also have a thick bottom with good infill. There are a lot of stresses if this is actually on a patrol flag. The blank spaces on the bottom are where I placed my wood badge totem. Scanning or digitally recreating your totem in software like GIMP or PAINT.NET will allow you to change it over to a SVG file and add to the sides by the BSA. I finished by gluing the whole model together and spray painting it metallic gold, reminiscent of the Roman Standards. I glued a PVC pipe with fiberglass reinforcement to the bottom of the middle print and the sign to accept the top of a pole. I also reinforced with Fiberglass because I did not print the bottom strong enough. YIS
