Windsock mooring and spinner
Description
(Printed but not mounted yet, I'm still waiting for a windsock to arrive, once it does I'll post the usual action-shots) A simple windsock spinner and mooring post based on the ubiquitous 608-Z skateboard bearing. I designed this to go on a flagpole at our sailing club; it has some spikes on top to deter birds, and a deep skirt for weatherproofing. Print without support, but with a brim (unless you have super bed adhesion); and as orientated in the .stl files for strength in the post/bearing assembly. The bearing is fixed to the post with a self-tap screw in the tapered hole in the post end, once you have it secure grease the bearing and then heat the cap in some hot water to soften the internal fins, shake dry, and push the bearing into the cap. Once cooled it should be strong and snug (if not, add some glue, but make sure it avoids the bearing internals ;-)) I painted the cap to seal it (PLA prints tend not to be waterproof) against the weather and help the bearing survive.
