As there are often Switches we do not want turned off or on for safety or to keep the memory and stand by power on at all times this type of Thing can be very handy. Some older houses had switches to control outlets for floor lamps but if this is where your TV or Satelite Box is plugged in, then covering the switch is a good idea. Thanks, minicoop25.
