Swan-class ship sloop (14/16 gun) 1767-1815

Description

Swan-class ship sloops of the British Navy. A series of 25 ships ordered and built from 1766 to 1779. In service from 1767 through to 1815. Initially had 14 guns installed but was later increased to 16. HMS swan, kingfisher, cygnet, atalanta, pegasus, fly, swift, dispatch, fortune, hound, hornet, vulture, spy, cormorant, zebra, cameleon, fairy, nymph, savage, fury, delight, thorn, bonetta, shark and alligator. For more information see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swan-class_ship-sloop The ship hull and shape was built as accurately as possible to admiralty plans. The hull under the waterline was then removed and the upper parts were simplified in detail at the bow, thickened in the stern, windows exaggerated, and deck detail exaggerated. All this to be able to print out on an FDM 3d printer at 1:600 and 1:700 and then at smaller scales for Resin printers (1:900, 1:1200) Designed for a range of games including Black Seas, Fighting Sail, Fire as She Bears, Kiss Me Hardy and more. The photos show prints on an Ender 3 FDM printer at 1:700 scale, then the hull on an Elegoo Mars Resin printer at 1:700 and then compared with some of my other models In the group photo the swan-class ship is on the far left to show scale against a 32 gun, 40 gun, 74 gun and 90 gun (2nd rate ship of the line), all at 1:700. UPDATE 26/12/2019: Some resin printed hull photos added UPDATE 04/11/2019: I've updated the free 1:700 version with 3d printable sails to also include cannons and gunports at: https://www.wargaming3d.com/product/swan-class-ship-sloop-14-16-gun-1767-1815-2/ UPDATE: The latest version is now freely available at 1:700 scale with fully 3d printable sails at: https://www.wargaming3d.com/product/swan-class-ship-sloop-14-16-gun-1767-1815-2/
