Ultimate tolerance calibration cube shape
Description
It takes high calibration to print this shape correctly. If printed with zero infill, or if under extruding, the side that narrows to thin edge will have a very different length/width compared to the opposite side (circular hole side). This shape was created to be used similar to the calibration cube. I find that I get more information from the XYZ lettering that is usually scripted on the sides so I figured a little more detail in a simple shape would be good. The size is 20 x 20 x 20mm, and uses less filament than the cube. With intention of keeping the design simple I found that the shape can give a lot of information about a printer's performance. The features I have included in to the design are as follows: Initial Orientation 45 degree angle (step up) 45 degree overhang 90 degree x 5 mm vertical (for view of layers) 2.5 mm walls Decrease in wall thickness to zero thickness edge (top of square!) 90 degree vertical rounded edge (step up) If Placed Up-side-down: Very low surface area to test adhesion of build plate 60 degree angle (step up) Roof surface quality viewing If Placed on the Side: 5 mm bridge 8.35 mm bridge 90 degree gradual overhang with mass load increase Center square bore: 2.4 mm tolerance test (needs testing with vernier-calipers) I hope this can be a help for someone! Thank's for viewing :) :) :)
